John Paesano to Return for ‘The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials’John Paesano has officially signed on to score the upcoming sequel The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials. Wes Ball returns to direct the second part in the series, which stars Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee and Patricia Clarkson who reprise their roles from the first part. They are joined by new cast members members Giancarlo Esposito, Aidan Gillen, Nathalie Emmanuel, Rosa Salazar, Jacob Lofland, Barry Pepper and Lili Taylor. T.S. Nowlin has written the sequel’s script based on the novel by James Dashner. Temple Hill Entertainment and the Gotham Group are back to produce the project. Paesano previously scored this year’s first installment in the series, which just crossed the $100 Mio. mark at the domestic box office. The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials is set to be released on September 18, 2015 by 20th Century Fox.

Transported to a remote fortified outpost, Thomas and his fellow teenage Gladers find themselves in trouble after uncovering a diabolical plot from the mysterious and powerful organization WCKD. With help from a new ally, the Gladers stage a daring escape into the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with dangerous obstacles and crawling with the virus-infected Cranks. The Gladers only hope may be to find the Right Hand, a group of resistance fighters who can help them battle WCKD.

My_All_American-posterJohn Paesano has been tapped to score the upcoming sports drama My All American. The film marks the directorial debut of screenwriter Angelo Pizzo (Rudy, Hoosiers, The Game of Their Lives) and stars Aaron Eckhart, Finn Wittrock, Robin Tunney and Sarah Bolger. The movie tells the true story of 1960s University of Texas football star Freddie Steinmark and his relationship with legendary Texas coach Darrell Royal. Steinmark was a player on the national-title-winning 1969 team, before his career was cut short when he went to the hospital for a bone bruise and learned that he had a cancerous tumor that took his leg. Pizzo has also written the screenplay. Paul Schiff (Rushmore, My Cousin Vinny, Mona Lisa Smile) is producing the project. My All American is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2015.

Paesano who previously scored this year’s hit feature The Maze Runner and the sports drama Where the Game Stands Tall also has Marvel Studios’ Netflix series Daredevil coming up. The composer will also return to score the third season of DreamWorks Animation’s show Dragons: Riders of Berk, which is set to premiere in 2015.
