The show follows the adventures of Hiccup, Toothless, and a community of Viking warriors, as they discover the world of dragons is a lot larger than they thought. It has been reported that the voice cast of the feature film, including Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and T. J. Miller will be returning for the TV version. Composer John Powell has received an Academy Award nomination for his score for the original film. Dragons marks the Dreamworks Animation’s first project for Cartoon Network. The show is set to premiere this fall.

Paesano has previously written the music for last year’s animated TV special Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas, which he recorded with the Hollywood Studio Symphony. His other credits in animation include the 2010 superhero film Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. On the live action side, the composer is attached to score the Irish drama Crossmaglen. The film is based on the novel Shamrock Boy by English author, Stuart White, which centers around a fictitious IRA member Dermot McGarvey who sets out with two fellow soldiers to run a raid on British troops in a small village in the north of Ireland. Ben Kingsley is attached to star in the film, which is expected to go into production soon.
