Conducted by Pete Anthony, Paesano's score was recorded with a 99-piece ensemble of the Hollywood Studio Symphony. Strings and woodwinds were recorded during the day, with brass recorded at night.
The World Soundtrack Academy (WSA, or World Soundtrack Awards), launched in 2001 by the Film Fest Gent, is aimed at organizing and overseeing the educational, cultural and professional aspects of the art of film music, including the preservation of the history of the soundtrack and its worldwide promotion. The event takes place yearly in Ghent, Belgium with the ceremony usually at the Bijloke Concert Hall. Usually, the Brussels Philharmonic performs the awarded music at the ceremony.
John Paesano has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming comedy Almost Christmas. The film is written and directed by David E. Talbert (Baggage Claim, First Sunday) and stars Gabrielle Union, Danny Glover, Mo’Nique, Kimberly Elise, Omar Epps, Romany Malco and Jessie T. Usher. The movie follows an estranged family forced to come together for their first Christmas since the death of the family matriarch. Will Packer (Ride Along, Obsessed, Think Like a Man) is producing the project. Aaron Zigman was originally scoring the film as previously reported and credited in the movie’s first trailer.
